Any bearing specification will list a dynamic load rating (C) and a static load rating (C0). These two values ​​are often confused, and they have different meanings.

The dynamic load rating measures service life. It indicates the load a bearing can withstand within a given number of rotations before the rolling elements and raceways fail due to fatigue. This value is used to calculate the bearing's service life.

The static load rating measures deformation capacity. It indicates the load that can be applied to a stationary bearing without causing permanent deformation of the rolling elements and raceways. This is especially important for bearings subjected to impact loads or suspended for extended periods without rotation.

If a bearing is selected based on only one value, it is easy to encounter situations where the bearing can rotate normally but cannot withstand the shock of startup; or conversely, the bearing can remain stationary but wears out too quickly under continuous rotating loads.
